Using Search

Search is a new way of searching for Library resources. Using natural language, a simple search box will bring back results from a number of different sources.

You can refine the results of your basic search by using the facets. Or you can do an advanced search and prescribe limits to your searching.

  • All resources - includes resources from Monash and other institutions
  • Library collections - for material available at Monash

Subject Headings

To find items by subject using  Search, select Advanced Search, and change "any" to "in subject" in the top left box. Enter the subject and the results should display as a list. Subject searches have been conducted on the links below. Click on them for the results by subject.

Browsing by call numbers

The Monash libraries use the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme to organise books and journals. The most efficient way to locate material in the library is to use Search. However the following may be useful as a guide when browsing the shelves.

Over 7000 Indonesian monographs published between 1945 and 1968 from the Cornell University Watson collection are available on microfiche.
