Link to library resources: DOI number

This guide explains how to create stable links to the library's online resources.

Access to Monash e-Resources

The Library's electronic resources are only available to current Monash University staff and students.

Overview

If the database article includes a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) number you can use these instructions to create a stable link.

Creating a DOI link

1. Locate the article in the database.

2. Find the article's DOI number and copy it. (Drag and highlight the DOI number with the left mouse button. Choose 'Copy' from the browsers Edit menu)

3. A stable DOI link is made up of the following elements:

  • The Library's EZproxy link for off-campus access
    http://ezproxy.lib.monash.edu.au/login?url=
  • The DOI website:
    http://dx.doi.org/
  • The article's unique DOI number
    10.1093/comjnl/bxh134

Completed DOI link:
http://ezproxy.lib.monash.edu.au/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/comjnl/bxh134
