eBooks: How to access ebooks on the ProQuest EBook Platform if the "Read Online" option is unavailable

A guide to accessing and using ebooks available at Monash University

ProQuest EBook Central

The library is currently experiencing problems with the "Read Online" option for ebooks on the ProQuest EBook Central platform. This means that you will need to select the download option to view any ebooks or ebook chapters.

Please refer to the downloading instructions below, and in the ProQuest EBook Central library guide.

How to download an ebook

1. Select "Full Download" rather than "Read Online"

Note: The download option is not available to students using Monash computers, but can be used on personal computers or devices

2. Select your device from the options provided, and follow the download instructions

Note: You will require Adobe Digital Editions software for a laptop or desktop computer, or Bluefire Reader on iOS or Android devices. See further information on the Proquest EBook Central Library Guide.

How to download an ebook chapter in a reading list

If you have been linked directly to a chapter of an ebook on ProQuest EBook Central from your reading list, you may find that the full page does not display properly. This can be because the link has been created in "Read Online" mode:

To view the whole chapter, click on the download icon in the reader toolbar:

Further information on chapter downloads is available on the ProQuest EBook Central library guide.
