A guide to using Multisearch to search multiple databases simultaneously

How to create your favourite sets

Select a list of your favourite databases, give the list a name and then search it in QuickSearch or MetaSearch. To create your own list:

  • use Find Database to locate your databases.
  • in the database list, click the 'Add to My Sets' icon   to add databases to your Clipboard. When added, the 'Added to My Sets' icon  will appear.
    Note: The 'Search in database' icon  appears if the resource is searchable via MultiSearch.

  • go to My Space, select My Databases. The databases you have selected should appear in the Clipboard.

  • click the 'Create new set' icon  to create a new set. Give it a name, eg 'Business' and Save.
  • go back to the databases in the Clipboard, click 'Move database' icon  to move each database to your new set.
  • The new set should now appear in QuickSearch as well as in MetaSearch
