Free software for managing citations and associated files for Monash University students and staff. It integrates with common word processors. Windows and Mac versions available

Literature review

In a scientific essay, project or report you will be expected to show that you are aware of the relevant research on the topic and a literature review will form an important part of your assignment.

In some units you may be expected to write a stand-alone literature review as the whole assignment. See Writing in Science - the Literature Review for more details.

Library staff with specialist knowledge in your particular discipline can be contacted at any stage of your studies. Their expertise includes resource discovery, analysis and use; data management; essay, report and thesis writing; and oral presentation skills. Contact Library staff.

Access to a world of information

The Library has extensive print and online resources. Research staff and students also have access to the Document Delivery service through which you can request material not available at Monash.

Promoting your research

Monash University Monash University Repository is a central store for University research outputs. Electronic copies of doctoral theses, for example, are held there.

Monash University Publishing uses new technologies to publish the University’s research activities. You may wish to consider publishing your work online and in print with Monash University Publishing

Generous borrowing conditions

Refer to the borrowing entilements page for details of your loans entitlements as a staff member, postgraduate or honours student. Material may be borrowed from all Monash University libraries and picked up from the campus of your choice. Renewals can usually be made online.

Build skills

Seminars, tutorials and learning support are offered throughout the year via many different providers.  Search the Monash web for higher degree classes offered such as MRGS eXpert seminars, MPA workshops, EndNote and Learning Skills via the Library Class Booking System.

We encourage you to recommend material to add to the Library’s collection to support your research. Discuss this with your contact librarian or fill in the suggestion form.
