Resources relating to Jewish Studies are held predominantly at Caulfield Library and Matheson Library (Clayton). Books and other items can be found in the General Collections of each library using the call numbers and the subject headings below. Matheson Library also contains the Kipen Judaica Collection.

Laura and Israel Kipen Judaica Collection

The Laura and Israel Kipen Judaica collection houses materials relating to the history of Jewish civilisation and Judaism. The collection supports courses offered by the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation.

Location: 1st Floor, Sir Louis Matheson Library

Loan conditions: items in the collection are available for loan.

2016 Kronhill Visiting Scholar: Professor David Roskies

David G. Roskies is a Professor of Jewish literature at The Jewish Theological Seminary of America specialising in the Holocaust, modern Yiddish culture, Jewish history and literature. He is the Sol and Evelyn Henkind Chair in Yiddish Literature and Culture and earned his Ph.D. in Near Eastern and Judaic studies from Brandeis University. Professor Roskies is the 2016 Kronhill Visiting Scholar and presented a three-part public lecture series during July and August on Speech, Story and Writing Catastrophe: The DNA of Jewish Memory. Distinguished Visiting Scholar for the Global Conflict and Violence Focus Program, SOPHIS: Professor Donald Bloxham

Donald Bloxham is a Professor of European History and Modern History at the University of Edinburgh specialising in genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Professor Bloxham presented a public lecture entitled, "The Holocaust in a Wider European History of Violence" in July 2016 at the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation (ACJC).
