Quizzes in Moodle are often self-checking, that is, you will be able to see the results at the end of an attempt. They can be graded or non-graded, and can be in a variety of formats including, true or false, or multiple choice.
To respond to a quiz:
- Click on the quiz link (preceded by the quiz icon
) in your unit.

- Before attempting to respond to the quiz, review the instructions, in particular the Grading method. It will give you an indication of how you will be graded in the quiz and how many attempts are allowed.

Note: Some quizzes may also require you to finish them at a defined time limit and/or due date. If this is the case, allow ample time to attempt the quiz before the set due date and time limit. If the time limit is reached while you are attempting a quiz, Moodle will automatically save whatever you have done. While Moodle is autosaving, do NOT click the Submit button as this will interfere with the auto save and corrupt your answers.
- Click
to start the quiz.
Note: For self-checking quizzes, you will need to click Submit for each question after putting in your answer. This will give you immediate feedback on your response, then you can click Next to move to the next question.
- Once completed, click Submit all and finish. A confirmation message will be displayed.
- Confirm your submission by clicking Submit all and finish in the pop up.
Note: For quizzes that allow multiple attempts, you will be able to review your quiz attempts at the end of your submission. Once done, click on the Finish attempt... link in the Quiz navigation block.

Conditional questions
Some questions may not be available (appear locked in the navigation block) until you have attempted earlier questions.
