Rare Books: Teaching

Faculty members are encouraged to utilise our special collections materials and engage in object-based teaching and learning in their classes. We would be happy to arrange class visits to the Library or to come to your classes with a small selection of our material. Enabling students to handle rare and unique items and to examine primary sources first-hand is a valuable and exciting teaching tool that would work well in a number of different faculties and disciplines. We can cater to students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Object-based classes can be a great way to nurture your students' engagement with history and promote active and experiential learning outcomes.

If you would like to know more about arranging a class visit to the Library or incorporating Special Collections material in your classrooms, please contact us to discuss further.
