Searching
The librarian works with Cari and Lee to confirm that there are no published studies on their topic, and suggests that the next step is to build their gold set of references.
Cari starts building her gold set by looking for articles published by the conference speaker who first told her about the topic, as well as forward searching through the references lists of those articles and the systematic reviews on similar topics found earlier. Lee looks for any important articles that cite the initial studies or reviews. They end up with a pool of nine articles which give good background to the topic.
