Welcome! This guide aims to assist you with your research of international law. This includes:
Public International law - the system of law that imposes rights and obligations on States (Nations) in their dealings with each other.
Human rights - is the largest area of public international law and covers the fundamental rights inherent in every individual on the basis of humanity. Human rights law concerns the rights and freedoms recognised at law.
Private international law - also known as conflict of laws - the body of rules that govern the jurisdiction of courts, the applicable law, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, in civil cases containing a foreign element.
