Scope

Materials engineering deals with all aspects of materials as used in diverse manufacturing industries eg aerospace, and in the research and development of new materials and applications. The Department of Materials Engineering is based on the Clayton campus. Print library materials are mainly held in the Hargrave-Andrew Library . There is an extensive collection of electronic resources supporting research in materials engineering and related areas.

  • using the Library's collection

Learning skills advisers assist students in improving their academic language and approaches to learning, including:

  • study methods and exam preparation
  • effective listening and note-taking
  • problem-solving and critical thinking
  • reading strategies
  • essay, report and thesis writing
  • writing for research projects
  • oral communication and presentation

Drop-in sessions at Hargrave-Andrew Library . No bookings are required for these 10-15 minute consultations, during which you can seek assistance with your academic study and communication skills.

Information research and learning skills classes are available at all library branches
