The library offers specific staff services to help postgraduate students.
Appointments with library staff :
Postgraduate students (including Honours) are able to make appointments with their liaison librarian. The Librarian can provide an overview of library services for the specialised needs of research students. This usually involves assistance with a literature search on the thesis topic; discussing any specialised libraries and access to other library collections which may be important in the research area.
Book an appointment with a librarian for consultation or email librarians@monash.edu.
Library classes:
Library workshops are arranged throughout the year on a range of topics relevant to postgraduate students. Examples include introductory workshops for new postgraduates; graduate research and publishing; and research skills. Classes can be booked via the Library class booking system.
Suggest titles to add to the collection
If there is a resource important to your research which the Library doesn't hold, it may be available through Interlibrary Loans. Academic staff and PhD students are also able to request resources for purchase by the library.
Manage your research
Managing your research data at the beginning of the research journey may be something you wish to consider. The University offers advice and support in this developing area.
Keeping up to date
Requesting resources from non-Monash libraries
Students conducting research at Honours, Masters and PhD level can make requests to the document delivery library service. Requests to borrow theses can be made with the approval of the student's supervisor or subject librarian. More information about accessing theses is available on the Theses library guide.
Students can also request a CAVAL card to use to borrow from other Victorian University libraries.
